If you have made it this far in my web site, you might be wondering why I use the repeat of a spiked piece of early lace at the top of all my pages. This piece is the reason. It is by far the most important lace in my collection.

A piece of this lace was cut off and sent for carbon dating. Results were written up in the OIDFA bulletin.
